DBE-5 (DBE®-5)
DBE®-5 (dimethyl glutarate) is a clear, colorless liquid with a mild, pleasant odour.
DBE®-5 is readily soluble in alcohols, ketones, ethers and most hydrocarbons. It's only slightly soluble in water and higher paraffinated hydrocarbons.
Applications:
- As solvent in industrial coatings, coil-/can-coating, enamel coatings, dispersion paints, automotive coatings, industrial cleaning, industrial strippers, foundry, printing inks, textile additive, reaction solvent for urethanes and peroxides, cleaner for polyurtheane and polyester resins.
- As plasticizer for permanent diesters and polyesters.
- As polymer intermediate for polyester polyols for polyurethanes, wetting agent for paper, polyester resins.
- Special chemical intermediates.
